So our empathy goes to you acknowledging how hard you would find confiding in any one person, let alone more, and be sure of genuine acceptance. You probably find it distressing that along with that deep-rooted viewpoint, many people imagine that for you to be LGBTQI… you’d have to be experimenting… choosing to be different… rebelling against society… going through a phase… just being fashionable…? And you are so aware of the automatic prejudice that follows… even from the most lovely and socially accepting people in all other circumstances. You aware of it all the time…that being LGBT is a completely foreign concept to the many individuals who started out life with very clear biological sex genitals and chromosomes, and who have always identified as the same gender as those indicate, and who have always had a strong sexual orientation for the “opposite sex”. How hard it must be for you – one of our Rainbow people – to face the reality that many people are ingrained into thinking there is only one unambiguous approach to gender and sexual identity… everyone is either male or female.
